WHF Volunteers Needed for Foundation Partners Changepurse Series

Volunteers are needed for the upcoming Changepurse series April 10-May 22 at Good Shepherd Housing in Alexandria. Please contact Mary Martha Fortney at 703-507-4088, [email protected] if you are interested in taking part in this exciting initiative with one of the WHF Foundation's non-profit partners.  Interest has grown over the years about Changepurse, the WHF Foundation's unique course in financial security and empowerment.  WHF volunteers have previously facilitated Changepurse series at Good Shepherd, and we have been asked to provide volunteers for the next Changepurse series, beginning Wednesday, April 10 and ending Wednesday, May 22.  Approximately 6-8 Good Shepherd female participants between the ages of 32 and 53 will participate in the series.  They are single heads of households, have high expenses that strain their limited incomes and will benefit greatly from financial coaching and education.  The goal of Changepurse is to change the participants negative spending habits, encourage them to treat money as value, and help them understand the importance of creating a financial cushion.  Classes are held on Wednesdays from 7pm to 8pm for seven weeks at Good Shepherd's offices located at 8305 Richmond Highway, Suite 17B, Alexandria.  Volunteers can sign up for one or more classes.  To learn more and to volunteer, please email WHF Foundation board member Mary Martha Fortney at [email protected], call her at 703-507-4088, or call WHF at 703-683-4742.  Thank you for your willingness to help others! You are needed and will be richly rewarded!
